You wouldn't think Marilyn Manson and Frida Kahlo had much in common, but alas, both were sources of inspiration for Jean Paul Gaultier's fall/winter 1998 collection, featuring models with Kahlo's signature unibrow and Manson's goth appearance with long, sleek black wigs. Few others would have the ability to combine two such contrasting sources of influence and turn it into a coherent and exciting collection, but Gaultier's was just that.
This iconic shirt was a novel interpretation of Gaultier's already successful printed mesh pieces, featuring a sharp collar and cuffs made from soft, slightly fuzzy wool, adding extra flair and a flattering fit to an already iconic item.
The size corresponds to a modern small, but due to the elasticity of the fabric, this can be worn by a modern size xs-m, depending on desired fit. Please refer to measurements for the right fit, however. The model is a size s and wears the top unpinned.
This item is in very good overall condition, although please note that this is a vintage item and may present with some signs of wear consistent with age and use.
